Medically reviewed by Dr. Nicolás Zarur · Updated October 2026

A fracture or dislocation needs fast and precise treatment: how a bone is aligned and fixed in the first days determines how well you’ll move later. Dr. Zarur treats injuries from falls, sports and accidents, from simple fractures to complex cases. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

How we diagnose and treat it

Dr. Zarur examines the injury, checks circulation and nerves, and orders X-rays or a CT scan when needed. Then he explains whether the fracture can heal with a cast or needs surgery.

Immobilization

Casts, splints or braces for stable, well-aligned fractures.

Closed reduction

Putting the bone or joint back in place without surgery, under anesthesia when needed.

Surgical fixation

Plates, screws or nails to hold displaced fractures in the right position while they heal.

Rehabilitation

Physical therapy to recover strength and motion, and return to work or sport.
